Raymond Eugene (Gene) Brandstetter, age 75, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, with his wife by his side. Gene was born on April 13, 1950, in Gorman, Texas, to Milton Eugene Brandstetter and Carmleta Nora Bible.

A proud veteran, Gene served his country with honor in the United States Army. On June 6, 1970, he married the love of his life, Donna Hall, in Brownwood, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and countless memories.

Gene was the longtime owner and operator of Brownwood Electric Motor Service, where his skill, work ethic, and easygoing spirit earned him the respect and friendship of many in the community. He often gathered around a poker table at his shop with his buddies — a pastime that brought him great joy and laughter over the years. He was also known for his love of fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Donna Brandstetter of Brownwood; daughter Ashleigh Witcher and husband Jason of Brownwood; son Gene Brandstetter Jr. and wife Courtney of Blanket; and son Brandon Brandstetter and wife Teresa of Brownwood. Gene was a proud grandfather to Addison, Ryleigh, Lillie, Landen, Gavin, and Chase, and a loving great-grandfather to Jackson and Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Gober of Coleman, along with numerous relatives and dear friends.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Carmleta Brandstetter, and two sisters, Mireta and Yvonne.

A funeral service celebrating Gene’s life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Gene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
