Beginning Monday, April 28, weather permitting, TxDOT Brownwood District will start a mill and seal contract on FM 2524 in Brown County. This project’s purpose is to extend the life of the road surface.

The limits of the project will extend from Avenue K to FM 2126 (also known as the Access Road locally).

Crews will mill the road surface and restripe the freshly textured surface. In approximately one month, crews will return to apply a seal coat to this location.

One lane will be closed in the four-lane section of FM 2524; however, where this road narrows to two lanes just past Oakland Drive, flaggers will assist traffic through a one lane closure.

After this section is complete, crews will move to US 377, where they will mill from FM 45 to 1.56 mile east of FM 586.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or plan for possible delays while work is in progress. Please obey all signage, avoid distractions, and use caution in and near the work zone. Watch for crews and equipment entering and exiting the work zone.
