Diana Tate

Diana Lee Tate, age 82, of Brady, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, April 15, 2025, in Brady. Diana was born August 13, 1942, in Brady, to Jamie Edwin Williamson and Mary Ella (Shuffield) Williamson. She grew up in Brady and was a 1960 graduate of Brady High School. She attended Texas Tech University for part of her undergraduate work and then transferred to North Texas State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. She taught school in Dallas, Uvalde, Richland Springs and Lohn. She married Jesse Tate, the love of her life, in 1977 in Brady. After retiring, Diana helped Jesse operate Brady Appliance. She was also very active in the Adult Basic Education program, where she taught math and music. She was very active in the Eastern Star and the Damrosch Music Club. She was an accomplished pianist and member of the Brady Methodist Church where she was a longtime member of the choir.

Funeral services for Diana Tate will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Cody Dykes and Reverend Bun Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Diana is survived by her loving son, Curtis Counts of Brady and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jesse. Memorial contributions in memory of Diana Tate may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org and/or Hope from the Heart, P. O. Box 1207, Brady, Texas 76825.
