The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of April 16:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 67 degrees; 0.56 feet below pool. Black bass to 7.57 pounds are excellent in 1-5 feet of water all around the lake in spawning pockets on Hag’s Tornados, cheat codes in white or green pumpkin, glides baits and Outlier Frogs. The next spawning wave has moved up on beds. Crappie are good to 11 inches on jigs in 2-10 feet starting to move shallow. White bass are good to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits spawning in the rocks throughout the lake. Catfish to 8 pounds are slow on jug lines with cut bait and off some of the deeper docks nightcrawlers and chicken livers.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water slight stain; 60 degrees; 13.26 feet below pool. Weather conditions have been fair and slightly windy with a forecasted cold front for the weekend. Crappie are in shallow water with minnows. Bass are good in deeper water hitting soft plastic worms. Catfish are good on worms in 10-15 feet of water. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

FAIR. Water normal stain; 70 degrees; 0.84 feet below pool. As the weather remains consistent expect fishing to improve. Bass are in all stages of the spawn hitting creature baits and soft plastics. Crappie can be caught with minnows or jigs.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 65 degrees; 23.54 feet below pool. Black bass are fair to 12 pounds on shad imitation soft plastics in 4-15 feet primarily around the salt cedar points and back of brushy coves. In more stained water shad patterned chatterbaits and spinnerbaits have been doing well. Crappie are scattered with very few reports. Some crappie are being caught up The Colorado River around Rocky shallow flats. White bass are starting to pick up on rattle traps midlake around the Lee Day and Grape Creek area. Catfish are still good on a variety of stinkbaits, jug lines or rod and reel. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.23 feet below pool. Reports of crappie biting in shallow water. Reports of white bass caught trolling in shallow water.
