Megan Norvil and Alicia Stacks

Brownwood ISD shared the following information Monday regarding its April Spotlight Employees:

This month’s spotlight teacher is Megan Norvil. Ms. Norvil is an English teacher at Brownwood High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications – Public & Media and is certified in English Language Arts and Reading (8-12), Speech (7-12), ESL (EC-12), and Special Education (EC-12). This is her fourth year with Brownwood ISD.

Ms. Norvil is the glue of the BHS English department. She consistently seeks out ways to support and engage struggling learners. She is interactive in her classroom and genuinely engages with everyone she encounters. If you ever walk through the English hallway during a passing period, you will be greeted by a smiling Ms. Norvil, eager to have a great day with students and staff.

Brownwood ISD is fortunate to have dedicated educators like Ms. Norvil, who not only teach with passion but also uplift the school community with their positivity and heart.

Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Alicia Stacks. Ms. Stacks serves as the Speech and Language Pathologist at Coggin
Elementary. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech & Language Pathology/Audiology from the University of North Texas and is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. Now in her fourth year with Brownwood ISD, Ms. Stacks also provided contracted speech services to the district’s Special Education Department prior to joining the team.

Ms. Stacks is the sweetest person. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kindhearted. When a student has a speech disability, often times working through their language deficits can be frustrating. Despite student frustration, Ms. Stacks shows up everyday with a smile ready to start each day fresh. She always comes back to the drawing board if a strategy isn’t working and is one of our best advocates for helping nonverbal students at Coggin find their voice.

Brownwood ISD is proud to have professionals like Ms. Stacks who go the extra mile with compassion and expertise to support students and help them find success.
