
The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 3901 Glenwood at 9:38 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the residence with a report of people trapped inside. Fire personnel made entry and immediately started a primary search for trapped victims while other crews worked on containing fire. No victims were found during the search. The homeowner arrived and confirmed no one was home at the time of the fire. The fire originated in the kitchen and extended to the attic causing extensive damage, estimated at $120,000. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was on scene to assist the occupants.
Assisting the Brownwood Fire Department were the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard Ambulance, Red Cross, Oncor, Brownwood Police Department, and Atmos.
The fire was extinguished in 21 minutes and units were on the scene for 2 hours and 36 minutes.
