Toby Walker, age 72, of Brady, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and children, on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. Toby was born on October 4, 1952, in Midland, Texas to Milford Walker and Freda (Stephens) Walker. A proud Army veteran, Toby served his country honorably and carried his dedication and patriotism throughout his life. Beyond his service, he had a passion for woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected his meticulous nature and creativity. Toby also enjoyed fishing, often spending serene mornings by the water, and had a deep love for music, filling his home with praise and worship and classic rock. He married the love of his life, Tammy Smith, on November 14, 1978, in Midland, a union that has lasted for forty-seven wonderful years. Toby was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished member of the Brady community. Together, they raised five amazing children: Rebecca Sanchez (married to Ernesto) of Kingsville, Joshua Walker (married to Tiffany) of Montgomery, Rachel Walker of Brady, Timothy Walker (married to Alexi) of Brady, and Andrew Walker (married to Rachel) of Midland. He is also survived by his loving brother Johnny A. Walker (married to Norma) of San Angelo. Toby was a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren: Tanner, Ethan, Abigail, Koen, Mckenzi, Alexandria, Grayson, Leighton, Aurora, Hudson, Beckett, Olive, and Laurel. He found immense joy in spending time with them, sharing his wisdom, and creating lasting memories. His faith was central to his life, and he took immense pleasure in teaching others about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Toby’s gentle guidance and unwavering belief touched many lives and left an indelible mark on his community. Toby will be remembered for his steady presence, kind spirit, and unwavering dedication to his faith and family. His quiet strength and genuine warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family will hold a private service at a later date. Friends may view and/or sign Toby’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. He was preceded in death by his father, Milford Walker of Medina, his mother, Freda (Polly) Walker of Midland, and his stepmother, Norma Walker of Medina.
