The sixth annual Brown County Bull Bash is slated to take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Earl Q. Wilson Arena located at the Brown County Fairgrounds on U.S. Highway 377 South.

The cost is $12 for adults, kids 15 and under are admitted free with an adult. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Brown County Youth Fair Premium Sale.

Highlights of the event include Riggin Ray, the youngest bullfighter in the United States, along with clown comedian Jeff ‘Jackrabbit’ Harris. Bull teams, mutton bustin’ freestyle bullfights, and a mechanical bull will also be a part of the evening’s festivities.

Additional information is available by calling or texting 325-642-9738 or 325-998-0002.

Also, for the second year the Brown County Bull Bash Queen Contest will take place, with a $1,000 scholarship, belt buckle and crown to be presented to the winner, who also keeps 10 percent of the proceeds from all tickets sold. For more information on how to enter, contact Mary Ware at 325-439-7028.

There will also be a Bull Bash Photography Contest, the second annual, presented by Sutherland Photography. There’s a $10 entry fee and an 8×10 picture may be entered once in each category. Categories include amateur, professional and youth, and divisions are animals, still life, action and miscellaneous. Prizes will be presented to each category winner and there will be a grand and reserve champion in each division.

Again, all proceeds from the photo contest goes to the Bull Bash, which donates all its proceeds to the Brown County Youth Fair Premium Sale.

For more information on the photo contest, call Shannon Sutherland at 325-649-5910.
