
Oncor provided the following information regarding a Wednesday evening power outage that lasted over an hour in some part of Brownwood.
At 6:16pm on Wednesday April 2, Oncor had a piece of equipment (a lighting arrester) malfunction at one of the substations. This caused outages affecting a large number of customers in the southern part of town.
Oncor able to start switching load to other feeders and had everyone back on within an hour. A total of 2,944 customers were affected, as 1,221 had power restored within 7 minutes of the outage, and the other 1,723 were totally restored within the hour. The equipment was then repaired and the load restored to its original circuits.
