Fishing Reports 4/2/25

The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of April 2:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 69 degrees; 0.39 feet below pool. Black bass to 10.19 pounds are excellent in 1-5 feet of water all around the lake in pockets on Hag’s Tornados, cheat codes in white or green pumpkin, glide baits, jerkbaits. Bass are in all stages of the spawn. Crappie are good to 12 inches on jigs in 5-10 feet of water pushing shallow. White bass are good to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits late around the lighted docks. Catfish to 20 pounds are good on jug lines with cut bait and off some of the deeper docks nightcrawlers and chicken livers.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water slight stain; 64 degrees; 13.15 feet below pool. Bass are good in 10 feet of water hitting soft plastic worms . Crappie are transitioning shallow off docks in 10-20 feet of water with minnows. It is nearing the perfect spawning temperature. Catfish are good on worms in 10 feet of water. LAKE COLEMAN

FAIR. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 0.74 feet below pool. Bass are in all stages of the spawn hitting creature baits and soft plastics. Crappie can be caught with minnows or jigs.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 63 degrees; 23.47 feet below pool. Main lake water temperature is 62-64 degrees, and upper end 68 degrees in both rivers. Main lake bass are very good to 14 pounds on a variety of baits. Live scoping main lake points in 8-17 feet for bass with a variety of creature baits and shad imitation soft plastics. Chatterbaits and spinnerbaits are catching fish in 5 feet or less around heavy brush. A variety of patterns are working on the upper end of the lake like shad patterned spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, or flipping green pumpkin creature baits around heavy cover in 2-4 feet. Crappie are still slow but a few are being caught shallow up The Colorado River on live bait. White bass are slow. Channel catfish and blue catfish are very good along river ledges 6-18 feet with cheese bait, stink bait and chicken liver. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 65 degrees; 0.07 feet below pool. Scattered thunderstorms and rain in the weekend forecast. Target catfish with windblown banks and channel edges with fresh bait. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
