Early Lady Horns 9, Millsap 2

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns started the second half of District 8-3A softball action by leveling their league mark at 4-4 with a 9-2 home win over Millsap Friday.

Tied at 2 heading to the bottom of the second inning, Lady Horns (13-6) grabbed a 4-2 advantage that grew to 5-2 in the fourth. Early tacked on its final four runs in the bottom of the sixth.

The Lady Horns recorded 12 hits – three from Andie Simpson, including a home run and a double with four RBIs; three from Marissa Reedy, including a solo home run; three from Harper Thornberry; and one apiece from Sydney Greaves, Jordan Simmons, and Aleeya McCombs.

In the circle, Greaves and Leslee Beard teamed up to yield two unearned runs on one hit with three strikeouts and six walks. The Early defense committed four errors behind them.

May Tigers 11, Cross Plains 1

MAY – The May Tigers coasted past the Cross Plains Buffaloes for an 11-1 District 7-A baseball victory Friday.

May (5-0-1, 2-0) led 5-0 after the first inning and tacked on single runs in the second and third, and two more in both the fifth and sixth frames.

The Tigers recorded nine hits – two each by Brody Stice, Kaden Watkins, Kayden Psencik and Jackson Lusk, and one by Kobey Morris. Psencik, Lusk and Morris each contributed a pair of RBIs, with Watkins and Ben Harrell were credited with one RBI each.

On the mound, Lane Goodson and Morris combined to allow one earned run on three hits with 13 strikeouts and three walks.
