David Andrew Griffin, 72, of Rising Star, Texas passed away, Monday, March 24th, 2025. A visitation with family will be held at the Heartland Funeral Home, 6:00 – 800 PM, Thursday, March 27, 2025. Funeral service will be in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 28, 2025 with interment to follow at Rising Star Cemetery.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David Griffin, a beloved husband, son, father, brother, Poppy, and friend, who departed from this world on March 24th, 2025, at the age of 72. David was born on December 11, 1952 to Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Griffin and Ruth J. Griffin in Wichita Falls, Tx. He was the middle son of three boys. David was a proud graduate of Rising Star High School in 1971, with further education at Cisco Jr. College and Tarleton State University. He was drafted on September 28, 1972 and proudly served as an Armor Recon Specialist, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in September of 1978. David loved to be outdoors fishing, water skiing, kayaking, and dove hunting with his beloved Weimaraner. He was also an avid football fan, occasionally known to place a bet or two on those games. David married the love of his life, Susie Chambers, on March 21, 1999. Their unwavering love for one another was a true inspiration. They faced many challenges in their life, but always faced them together. They enjoyed life’s simple pleasures to the fullest and delighted in spoiling their fur babies Penny and Cali.
