Maxie Dennene Brown Sewalt

Maxie Sewalt was born February 11, 1933, in Brownwood, TX to Dennis and Irene Brown. She graduated from Brownwood High School in May 1950.

On December 25, 1950, she married the love of her life Alvis Lynn Sewalt. Maxie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. After her kids got older, she went to nursing school and worked as a nurse until her retirement. Maxie was a lifelong member of the Brookesmith Baptist Church.

Maxie, lovingly referred to as Puddin, is survived by daughter Bonnie and Husband William Burrus of Athens, daughter Teddi Sewalt Morrow of Lampasas, son Alvis Jr (Sambo) and wife Tawnya Sewalt of Athens; grandchildren, Luke Sewalt, Leslie Sewalt, Judd Sewalt, JeTonna Gilliam, Brant Burrus, Kylee Munoz, Jess Morrow, Caleb Morrow, Cheyenne Morrow, and Tori Pryor; great-grandchildren, Lyla, Logan and Lela Sewalt, Regan and Freddie Head, Dorian Sewalt, Vegas and Harley Gilliam, Turner, Jackson, and Rory Morrow, Alex Miller, Braylee and Tripp Pryor and two on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxie was preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Irene Brown, husband Alvis Sewalt, brother Warren and wife Wanda Brown, sister Maggie Lou Busche, son and daughter in law Jeff and Taronna Sewalt.

Maxie Sewalt passed away on January 23, 2025, at UT Health Hospital in Tyler, TX. She donated her body to science. Graveside services will be held March 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Cedar Point Cemetery in Brownwood, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral home.
