The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of March 19:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

SLOW. Water slightly stained; 58 degrees; 0.21 feet below pool. Black bass to 8.96 pounds are fair off the rocks with bladed jigs around the flats and staging areas and squarebill crankbaits in 2-14 feet. Fish will be in a holding pattern until the weather stabilizes, then there will be a huge push to the banks to spawn. Crappie are fair with catches up to 11 inches on jigs in 8-12 feet. White bass are good to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits in the Bayou. Catfish are fair on jug lines with cut bait and nightcrawlers.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water slight stain; 62 degrees; 12.96 feet below pool. Crappie are starting to spawn with many catches with minnows and worms. Bass are good. Some days have been very windy from the west. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

FAIR. Water normal stain; 55 degrees; 0.67 feet below pool. Bass are slow to fair with catches under 5 pounds in less than 4 feet of water and in the creek. The most prominent bait has been slow rolling a spinnerbait. Bass should be in a prespawn within the next week. Crappie can be caught with minnows or jigs.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 58 degrees; 23.32 feet below pool. When the wind lays expect a good bite. Black bass are fair to 6 pounds in the back of pockets and some creeks. Flip chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and creature baits in the brush in 8 feet or shallower. Finding clean water is critical. Crappie are slow. White bass are being reported up the river on rattle traps and crankbaits in the main channel up the Concho River. Not seeing large schools yet, but fish being reported as far up as the bridge. Catfish are fair to 4 pounds on a variety of cut chad, shrimp and earthworms. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR
