ABILENE – The Brownwood Lions golf team finished first overall at the District 6-4A boys golf preview tournament at Live Oak Golf Course here Friday.

The Lions posted a 316 composite score which was trailed by Stephenville (324), Graham (333) and Glen Rose (336).

Caleb Modawell paced the Lions with a round of 74, which tied for the low of the tournament, followed by Will Stewardson with a 77, Cobe Walker with a 78 and Peyton Sharp with an 87.

The Lions are back in action March 18 as they host the Bluebonnet Invitational at Brownwood Country Club.
