The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of March 5:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

SLOW. Water slightly stained; 60 degrees; 0.01 feet above pool. Black bass to 5 pounds are fair on minnows off the rocks, Hag’s All around jigs in juice box around steep banks, and squarebill crankbaits in 2-14 feet of water. Fish are transitioning to the spawning pockets. Crappie are fair to 1 pound on jigs and minnows off points in brush piles 15-20 feet of water. White bass are excellent to 1.5 pounds on crankbaits and Alabama rigs near the bayou. Catfish are fair on cut bait and night crawlers.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water slight stain; 50 degrees; 12.78 feet below pool. High winds leading up to the weekend have created tough fishing conditions. Reports of good largemouth bass catches with soft plastics. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water normal stain; 50 degrees; 0.50 feet below pool. High winds stirring the water clarity, so expect crappie and bass to be scattered. Target bass with Carolina rigs and football head jigs. Crappie can be caught with minnows or jigs.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 57 degrees; 23.13 feet below pool. Water temperatures 53-57 degrees with the upper end of the lake warmer. Some schooling activity on the main lake indicates fish moving into the back of creeks and channels. Jerkbaits are good as well as chatterbaits and flukes thrown into the edge of the brush lines. In the river fish are moving shallow 4 feet or less flipping creature baits in green pumpkin like a rage till Menace or a hagsbait cheat code, chatterbaits in shad patterns. Reports of a few crappie in the mouth of creeks and main rivers in 8-12 feet suspended around trees. Minnows are still best but some on small jigs with redheads and shad pattern bodies. White bass are also being reported on crankbaits and rivers. Channel catfish can be caught on shrimp and cut shad off the bank at Concho Park. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 50 degrees; 0.32 feet above pool. Target catfish on windblown points and banks with fresh cut bait. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
