James “Harold” Spivey, 94, of Bangs, Texas passed away Monday, February 24, 2025. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors.

Harold became a Christian as a young boy, a faith that guided him throughout his life. He was the loving father of nine children, who were his pride and joy. He instilled in them the values of hard work, compassion, and service to others. A true servant leader, Harold was a life member of Lions Clubs International, where he dedicated many years to helping those in need and served as a district governor. Additionally, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he served as district commander for one year. At the age of 82 he proudly began serving as a hospital volunteer. Harold began his career as an entry-level pipe liner with Sun Pipeline Company. His dedication and expertise allowed him to retire after 40 years as a Regional Office Manager. Throughout his career, he oversaw the construction of several significant pipelines, including “big inch” lines that continue in service to this day. In his retirement, Harold embraced new adventures such as owning businesses, working in real estate, and raising longhorn cattle. He found immense joy in being surrounded by his grandchildren, sharing stories, and imparting wisdom that will live on in their hearts. James Harold Spivey leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to family and community. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Stephens Spivey; daughters, Mary Townsend, Cindy Lopez and husband Joe, Boni Spivey, Leisel Rand and husband Stephen; sons, Mike Spivey and wife, Patti, James Spivey, Joe Spivey and wife, Kerryn, Derrick Spivey; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, K L & Elinor Spivey; daughter, Cathy Randleman; granddaughter, Maegan Spivey; and a great grandson, Michael Moorman.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Cal Farley’s Boy’s Ranch @ https://plannedgiving.calfarley.org/memorials-and-tribute-gifts
