Three Early Lady Horns have qualified for the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association state meet based on their performances at regionals Friday in Dublin.

Matty Boswell in the 114s, Julienne Socong in the 123s and Rayana Barzart in the 242s each won their weight divisions to move on to the state meet in Edinburgh March 11-14.

Socong was the best overall lightweight lifter for Class 3A small schools and tied the regional deadlift record of 345 pounds. Bazart was the best overall heavyweight lifter in Class 3A, and Boswell broke the regional record in the bench press with 170 pounds lifted.

Also competing from Early were Heaven Tollett who was third in the 123s; Meghan McCorkle who was fourth in the 105s; Sophia Celedon who was sixth in the 165s; Leila Sherrill who was eighth in the 132s; and Marlee Martinez who was eighth in the 181s.
