Ricky Louis Woodcock

Ricky Louis Woodcock, age 66, of Brownwood passed away at home surrounded by his family on February 27, 2025. A time of visitation will be held Sunday, March 2 from 4 to 6 PM at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be March 3 at 10 AM at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Zephyr Cemetery.

Ricky was born January 27, 1959 in Brownwood to Earl and Veda Woodcock. His childhood was spent in Brownwood, where he graduated from Brownwood High School. Ricky proudly served as an expert marksman and a rifle sharpshooter in the United States Marine Corp. He received and Honorable discharge from the Marines before coming back home to Brownwood. Ricky married Sheila Kay Walters April 3, 1993 in Stephenville and they began their beautiful life together. He was a hard-working man and retired from Vulcan Materials.

Ricky loved the Lord. He was a dedicated member of the HarvesTime Tabernacle in Early. Ricky was also a Sgt. at Arms for the Disciples of Harvest Motorcycle Ministry. He enjoyed hunting, camping, motorcycles, watching westerns, but most of all he loved spending time with family.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Sheila Woodcock; children, LaDeanna Ballard and husband Ray, Laticia Woodcock, Justin Walters and wife Christina, Cory Smith and wife Randa, David Woodcock, Kelsie Russell and Jerrick Woodcock; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Veda Woodcock; his son, Ricky Shane Woodcock; his sister and brother-in-law, Earlene and Sonny Shaw; his brother and sister-in-law, Tim Woodcock and Pam Woodcock-Martin; his brother, Jerry Woodcock and his nephew, Michael Shaw.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Solaris Hospice.
