Updated schedules for weekend baseball, softball tournaments

Weekend tournament schedules continue to evolve due to the weather as the Brown County baseball tournament schedule has again been altered, which will now result in the Brownwood Lions playing only three games Friday and Saturday at the new Morris Southall Field.

The Lions will now battle Sweetwater at 5 p.m. Friday, Perryton at 4 p.m. Saturday, and Gatesville at 6 p.m. Saturday. All games will have a 90 minute time limit.

Also, Bangs will host Stanton at 5 p.m. Friday, Goldthwaite at 3 p.m. Saturday, and Comanche at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Dragons’ portion of the Brown County tournament. No games were expected to be played in Early Friday and Saturday’s schedule was still a work in progress.

In the Battle On the Bayou softball tournament, the Brownwood Lady Lions will now four games – at 10 a.m. Friday against Shallowater and 4 p.m. Friday against Burnet, then at 10 a.m. Saturday against Junction and 2 p.m. Saturday against Hawley.

Meanwhile, Early will host Coleman at 10 a.m. and Hawley at 2 p.m. Friday, and Winters at 10 a.m. and Hamlin at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Also, Bangs faces Burnet at noon and Shallowater to 2 p.m. Friday at Brownwood High School, Brownfield at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Massey Sports Complex and Goldthwaite at 4 p.m. Saturday in Early.
