Charlotte Juanita ‘Sherry’ Blake Greenwood

Charlotte Juanita “Sherry” Blake Greenwood, age 82, of Bangs, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, February 27, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral services for Sherry will be held at 2:00 PM on February 28, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery.

Sherry was born on March 28, 1942 in Lubbock to Ruth and Johnny Ellis. She worked in many different manufacturing facilities and in Home Health. Sherry loved helping others; she was the sweetest, kindest, and most forgiving woman you could have met. Sherry often sat with her patients when they were hospitalized. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church as well as Haven of Hope Church in Brown County.

Sherry is survived by her sister, Elizabeth “Sally” Lightfoot; daughters, Patricia Cathey and husband Graham, Martha Horn, and Cathey McKamey and husband David; grandchildren, Becky Connally and husband Kelly, Angela James and husband Mark, Ashely Linder abd husband Roman, Steffen McKamey, Brett McKamey, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends that meant so much to Sherry.

Sherry is preceded in death by her husband, M.A. (Red) Blake; parents, Ruth and Johnny Ellis; son, Kenneth Blake; sisters, Billie Freels and Pat Nipp; and brother, Alan Ellis; and life companion, Jerry Greenwood.
