The Brown County Sheriff’s Office posted the following information on social media Tuesday afternoon:

Sheriff Vance Hill would like to advise the community of a recent scam. Callers are stating that they are either Sgt. Hill or Sheriff Hill with the Brown County Sheriff’s office and they are asking that you activate a google task bar on your PC in regard to a court case. The callers are also stating that there is a warrant for their arrest due to missing court. They are also leaving voice mails saying that they are Sheriff Hill, and that the individual needs to call them back regarding a confidential legal matter.
