CHINA SPRING – The May Lady Tigers captured a Class A Division I Region III area championship with a 45-37 victory over Slocum here Friday night.

May (22-9) led 18-10 after one quarter, 24-19 at halftime, and 33-22 heading to the fourth period.

Scoring for the Lady Tigers were Jordyn Gerhardt with 12 points, McKenna Landes with nine, Chloe Lord with eight, Mia Musick with seven, Aubree Gerhardt with three, and Summer Hicks, Bekah Roberts and Cortney Harper with two points apiece.

May will face Newcastle in third round playoff action early next week
