HOOPS ROUNDUP: Boys district champions May, Zephyr complete regular season with wins

May 80, Blanket 30

BLANKET – The District 21-1A champion May Tigers, ranked No. 15 in Class 1A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, completed an undefeated league run with an 80-30 road victory over Blanket Tuesday.

May (29-2, 12-0) led Blanket 26-8 after one period, 48-21 at halftime, and 65-28 heading into the fourth quarter.

Scoring for May was Kobey Morris with 22 points, Tyran Perry with 12, Brody Stice with 11, Ben Harrell with nine, Mikey Scheriger and Wyatt Hardy with five each, Kaden Watkins and Jackson Lusk with four apiece, Maddix Raffel with three, Justin McKenzie with two, and Kayden Psencik with one point.

May will face Roscoe at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Post in a playoff warm-up game, then battle Lingleville at 6 p.m. Tuesday at De Leon in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

Zephyr 100, Priddy 32

PRIDDY – The District 25-1A champion Zephyr Bulldogs completed a flawless march to the crown with a 100-32 road victory at Priddy Tuesday night.

Zephyr (20-10, 12-0) jumped out to a 29-8 lead after one period, which grew to 53-18 at halftime, and stood at 81-26 heading into the fourth quarter.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Hunter Davidson with 20 points, Reese Hamm with 16, Bauer Blair with 14, Spencer Marwitz with 10, CJ Byers and Cooper Walls with nine each, Wyatt Stevens with eight, Johnny Paul Evans-Rollins with seven, Ethan Byers with five, and Cash Whisenhunt with two points.

The Bulldogs begin their playoff run against Aquilla at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Hamilton.
