Eugene Edwin “Gene” Frost, 92 years old, of Lohn, Texas passed from this earth to the arms of his Lord on February 1, 2025, after a long illness. Gene was born August 11, 1932, in Brownwood, Texas to William Hillard and Minnie Baxter Frost and lived his entire life in the great state of Texas, the majority in McCulloch and Eastland Counties. Gene was a career Nursing Home Administrator and was known as the most trustworthy and compassionate caretaker of those individuals who came under his care, as well as a kind and thoughtful employer by those fortunate enough to work for him. Throughout his life he enjoyed part-time farming and ranching, and during his later years devoted himself to this pursuit full-time in rural McCullouch County, actively working the land and his livestock well into his late 80’s. A lifelong member of the Baptist Church, Gene was devoted to his Lord and his large family.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nita, his sons Randy Frost and wife Francis of Lander, Wyoming, Scott Frost and wife Dawn of Lubbock, Texas, his daughters Janet Whitson and husband John of Riverton, Wyoming and Jennifer Searcy and husband Joe of San Angelo; Nita’s children Reneé Araiza and husband Ric of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Bo Rogmans and wife Michelle of Denton, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his previous wives, Shirley Hodges and Ricky Eller, and granddaughters Kelsey Mirelez and Miranda Frost.

Gene and family have elected cremation at Heartland Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held March 1, at 11AM, at the Lohn Baptist Church, with interment of the ashes at Marion Cemetery, 4220 W. FM 765, Lohn, Texas 76852.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lohn Baptist Church 2848 FM 504, Lohn, Texas 76852 or Marion Cemetery.
