Luis C. Rodriguez

Luis C. Rodriguez, age 75, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, January 30, at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Luis will be held at 10AM on Friday, January 31, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Luis was born on July 20, 1949, in Sonora, Texas to Felipe and Ofelia Rodriguez. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1968. Luis married Rosalinda Montez on September 1971 in Abilene. Luis was a CDL truck driver, and worked for the City of Brownwood in the Street Department, Parks and Grounds, and at Brownwood ISD for many years. Luis enjoyed sitting outside on the porch for hours, yard work; he took pride in his beautiful green grass, keeping his vehicles maintained and clean, loved eating sweets, and hanging out with his close friends and family. He was a lifetime fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Luis will be remembered as being a very giving man, and always willing to help others when in need.

Luis is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Rodriguez; children, Louis Rodriguez Jr, Robert Rodriguez and wife Margarita, and Cynthia (Cindie) Rodriguez; 5 grandchildren, Robert Rodriguez, Veronica Reyes and husband Joel, Emma Rodriguez and fiancé Daron Richards, Michael Rodriguez and wife Page, and Jadea Varner and husband Coy; 13 great-grandchildren, Ava, Alonzo, Dulce, Sophia, Rafael, Ayden, Max, Mason, Averei, Joel Jr., Emelia, Amoura, and Aralee; siblings, Felipe Rodriguez, Armandina Almaguer, Fernado Rodriguez, Alcario Rodriguez, Henry Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Rosa Rodriguez-Calzada, Connie Garcia, and Estella Franklin; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Ofelia Rodriguez; sisters, Belia Vina, and Esther Collins; and brothers, Jesse Rodriguez and Jose Rodriguez; and close family friend/son, Pedro (Pete) Garza.
