BURNET – The Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team continued the best start in program history with their eighth straight victory to open the season, completing a sweep of the Burnet tournament field with a 4-0 triumph over Pflugerville Connally Saturday morning.

The Lady Lions (8-0), who have outscored their foes 37-1 in regulation, posted their seventh defensive shutout and received goals from Braycee Lee, Madison Weckwerth, Kynlie Lewis and Khloe Galvan. Jacklyn Lewis dished out three assists and Lee contributed one.

Brownwood is back in action at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the home opener against Marble Falls.
