CCMC Health System is pleased to announce that Dr. James Cawley, a highly experienced and dedicated board-certified GYN, will join the team in January 2025. Dr. Cawley brings over 30 years of expertise in providing exceptional OBGYN care and surgery services to women across rural Texas.

Dr. Cawley earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Cleveland, Ohio at St. Luke’s Medical Center. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Cawley has been deeply committed to delivering high-quality, accessible women’s healthcare, particularly in rural communities. His practice experience includes private practice roles in Graham, TX, and Mineral Wells, TX, as well as his most recent position at Texas Health Resources in Stephenville, TX.

Raised on a West Texas ranch, Dr. Cawley is passionate about improving the health and well-being of women in rural communities, where access to specialized care can often be limited. His roots in family and community are central to his approach to healthcare. Dr. Cawley is married to a retired pediatrician and is the proud father of four grown children and two grandchildren.

Starting in January 2025, Dr. Cawley will provide GYN care at Dublin Family Medicine on Mondays and at Doctors Medical Center Clinic in Comanche, TX, Tuesday through Thursday. In addition to his clinic hours, Dr. Cawley will offer surgical GYN procedures at CCMC, ensuring that women in the area have access to comprehensive care and surgical services without needing to travel far from home.
