May boys, girls sweep Gustine in district basketball action

GUSTINE – The TABC Class A No. 14 May Tigers, fresh off a TexasBank Holiday Classic Championship, improved to 2-0 in District 21-A action and 18-1 on the season with a 67-12 victory at Gustine Tuesday.

The Tigers led 23-2 after one quarter, 37-4 at halftime, and 55-8 through three periods.

Scoring for May were Brody Stice with 19 points trailed by Kobey Morris with 13, Tyran Perry with nine, Wyatt Hardy with eight, Lane Goodson with five, Jackson Lusk and Kayden Psencik with four apiece, Kaiden Adams and Kaden Watkins with two each, and JD White with one point.

The Tigers will next face Cross Plains at home Friday night in another 21-A tilt.

May Lady Tigers 90, Gustine 16

GUSTINE – The May Lady Tigers improved to 4-0 against District 21-A competition and 11-8 on the season with a 90-16 road triumph over Gustine Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers were in front 27-2 after one period, 39-6 at halftime, and 59-14 through three quarters.

May was led by 25 points from Chloe Lord along with 18 from Jordyn Gerhardt, 13 each from Mia Musick and McKenna Landes, nine from Aubree Gerhardt, and four points apiece from Kenlyn King, Bekah Roberts and Cortney Harper.

The Lady Tigers host Cross Plains at 6 p.m. Friday in another District 21-A contest.
