Sergeant 1st Class, James Dale Cox, age 69, of Bangs, Tx, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, He was born August 6, 1955, to James L. and Mittie Cox in Comanche, Tx. James graduated from Comanche High School in 1974. James graduated from nursing school at Ranger Junior College in 1976, enlisted into the Army in 1977, then finished the Police Academy at Tarleton State University in 1986. James worked for the National Guard Armory in Brownwood where he retired in 2014. James married his soulmate Judy Boyd October 26, 1986, where they resided in Bangs, Tx since 1998.

James is survived by his wife Judy Cox, Daughter Stephanie Rush and husband Preston of Bangs, two Sons Kristin Field of Bangs and Jamey Cox and wife Cheryl of Clyde. Grand-children Colton Roberts and wife Cheyanne of Brownwood, Caleb Blisard of Bangs, Cheyenne Rush of Bangs, Devin Eason of Brownwood, Nikki Lusk and husband Jared of Luling, Austin Rush and wife Cherokee of Roby, Tristan Cox, Chloe Cox, Brynlee Cox. Great-Grandchildren Madison, Cash, Paisley, Logan, Braxton, Jace. His brother Eddie Cox and wife Sharla of Comanche, Nephew Jimmy Cox and wife Kim, Niece Shelly Clarkson and husband Tyler, and great nieces Samantha, Paisley Grace.

James is proceeded in death by his father James L. Cox, mother Mittie Cox, and sister Edna Cox.

A Funeral Service for James will be held on Saturday December 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home with David Barnum Officiating; Burial will follow at Bangs Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
