Douglas Allen Hartranft, 59, of Brownwood, TX, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2024. Born on December 1, 1965, in Fulton, NY, Doug was raised in Mexico, NY, where he developed his love for the simple joys in life. He found peace in fishing, cherished the time spent with his dogs, and deeply adored his grandchildren. Doug also had a lifelong passion for heavy machinery, which he turned into a fulfilling career. Above all, he loved being in the kitchen, cooking for his family and friends, and sharing his culinary creations with those he held dear.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Penny Hartranft, and his four children: Alisha Hartranft, Amanda Hartranft, Allen Michael (Ryan) Witworth, and April Hartranft. He is also survived by three stepchildren: Ashley (Aaron) Kordek, Katherine (Tanvir) Raquib, and Demi (John) Franz, as well as seven grandchildren: Aaron (17), Evan (15), Lyric (13), Halo (7), Jaxson (8), Rowan (5), and Ella (2). Doug is also survived by his brothers, John Hartranft and Christopher (Elisha) Hartranft; his sister, Lanessa (Mark) O’Donnell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Hartranft; his father, John Hartranft; and his brother, Stephen Hartranft.
A private celebration of life for the family will be held at a later date, details to be determined.
Doug will be remembered for his boundless love, his warm spirit, and his ability to make everyone around him feel special. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be missed more than words can say. Rest in peace, Doug—your legacy of love and laughter will never fade.
