Mason Ray Cullins, a remarkable individual whose talents knew no bounds, passed away peacefully at Oak Ridge Manor Nursing Home in Brownwood, Texas, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. He was born on July 15, 1941, in Gouldbusk, Texas, and spent his formative years in Coleman County, where he attended school at Mozelle.

Mason was known for his exceptional skills as a diesel mechanic, a career he greatly enjoyed, displaying his dedication and expertise in every endeavor. His ability to fix broken items was a testament to his resourcefulness and ingenuity, a quality that endears him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mason cherished the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid fisherman and found immense joy in spending time with his beloved family, creating memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

On March 16, 1985, Mason married Joan Whisenhunt in Ranger, Texas, solidifying a lifelong partnership that would become one of his proudest achievements. Together, they nurtured a loving family environment, which he held dear.

Mason is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Cullins; his children, Mike Cullins and wife Margie, Lucia Boyd and husband Wayne, Tonyia Williams and husband Steve, Mindy Casey and husband Dennis, Ricky Cullins and wife Stacy, and Rachelle Sosa. He will be missed dearly by his fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Also surviving him is his nephew and caretaker, Marty Farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vera Cullins, and one sister, Dee Dee Cullins, who both played integral roles in shaping the man he became.

A graveside service to honor Mason’s life will be held on December 14, 2024, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion in Coleman, Texas, starting at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather at this time to celebrate the life of a truly extraordinary man who touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and craftsmanship.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Cullins family by signing the guestbook on Mason’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cullins family.
