Ben was born on February 6, 1942 in Brownwood to Maria Juanita Ramirez Hernandez and Benito Villalpando. He grew up and lived a majority of his life in Brownwood. He was a member of Melwood Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed landscaping; Ben worked at Brownwood floral in his youth, he loved plants and working on his yard. He also sold newspapers at an early age, and also used to caddie at the country club. He also loved fishing from a young age. Ben used to tell stories of his childhood, and from what he shared it was lots of friends and family at the “Barrio.” Him and his friends would go fishing and swimming at the creek down the street from his house. He was a member of Brownwood Bass Club; Ben was an avid fisherman and loved to compete in fishing competitions and tell fish Stories. Ask him about fishing, and he could talk to you all day! Ben also competed in the Senior Olympics. Ben worked at Superior Cable for 30 years where he made many friends.

Ben was a good man; he loved his children and grand-children very much! He was very a proud man. Ben was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. His son Danny retired from the military and he would glow with pride talking about him and his family. His only daughter Evy, also went on to have a good career and lives in the Fort Worth area. Ben married the love of his life, Biolanda Villalpando and he inherited a large family and more grand-kids. He was so happy when all of the grand children were around. Being a grandpa, he always had candy and of course, ice-cream! They knew Grandpa had good ice-cream for them. He was loved by all of his grand-children and family. He will be missed by all his family and friends. Ben and Biolanda were always together, since both were retired. Together, they enjoyed traveling and laughing, visiting family in California, New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. Danny and Cheryl gave the opportunity of seeing Hawaii and Virgina when they were in the military. Ben left some good memories and will be missed by many!
