Walter Lee Powers

Walter Lee Powers age 62 of Brownwood, TX passed from this earth on November 25, 2024, at Hendricks Medical Center from a lengthy illness. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 4th in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early.

Walter, or “Wally” as he was commonly known as by his friends, but most notably referred to as “PAPPY”, by his children and grandchildren, was born on July 22, 1962, in Brownwood, attending school there and was a lifelong resident. Walter spent 14 years employed at Kohler until he was forced to medically resign.

During his life Wally was blessed with 3 beautiful children who gave his life meaning. Brandy, Micheal, and Nicole. Each of his children in turn blessed him with grandchildren, which enriched his life even more.

In his spare time Pappy enjoyed role play games on his computer, spending time with children and grandchildren, he loved to fish, work with his hands, and hunt for deer and turkey. One of his favorite past times was relaxing by the water.

Walter is survived by his children Brandy Hibbs and husband Jeff of Bangs, TX, Micheal Powers, of Tye, TX, and Nicole Powers of Covington, PA, brother Billy Powers and wife Tinia of Brownwood, TX, brother Bobby Powers of Brownwood, TX. Twelve grandchildren One great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. All who love and will miss him tremendously.

He is preceded by his beloved mother Vera Faye McKinney and brother Charlie Powers.
