Rosalinda, or Rosie as she was known to many, De Los Santos, a beloved friend in her community and a cherished member of her family, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Born on September 25, 1947, in Coleman, Texas, Rosie devoted her life to caring for others, exemplified through her dedicated career in Home Healthcare. With immense pride and joy, she took care of her patients, embodying the compassion and commitment that defined her work. Her compassion and attentiveness made a lasting impact on those she served.

Having grown up in Coleman, Rosie attended local schools before pursuing further education at Brownwood Commercial College and nursing school in Waco. Her commitment to education and service remained a hallmark of her life, reflected in her active participation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a proud member of the Guadalupana Society.

An engaging personality, Rosie never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She had a special talent for connecting with people, which only deepened her role as a family historian. As noted by her loved ones, losing Rosie is like losing a great piece of the family history. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, reading, collecting family photos, and sending birthday cards to her family and friends. Rosie loved her pets and all animals, with her beloved dog, Coco, holding a particularly special place in her heart.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, George Martinez and Consuelo Galindo Martinez and Delia Martinez; her maternal grandparents, Felix and Luz Galindo; her paternal grandparents, Benito and Guadalupe Martinez; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Raul De Los Santos of Coleman; her siblings, Mary Ellen Schultz and husband Russell of Brenham, Mary Jo Beard and husband Samon of Abilene, Rosa Dean and husband Ted of Brenham, Enrique Rodriguez of Hico, Dolores Lozano and husband Oscar of Abilene, Joe Cervantes of San Antonio, Georgia Anna Armentor and husband Donnie of Brenham, Mark Martinez and wife Allison of Coleman, Michael Martinez and wife Marisa of Austin, and bonus sister, Elva Cardenas of Brownwood. Rosie is also survived by her aunt, Sarah Cortez of Abilene, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all remember her fondly.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Chrisitan Burial at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, in Coleman with Father Thomas Kalambadan officiating. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of Rosie be made to the SPCA of Texas at www.spca.org.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the De Los Santos/Martinez family by signing the guestbook on Rosie’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the De Los Santos/Martinez family.
