Joe passed from this life on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Brownwood, Tx at the age of 55.

Billy “Joe” Tharp, Jr. was born in Brownwood, Texas to Billy Joe Tharp, Sr. and Sherry Thompson Tharp. He graduated from Brownwood High School.

Joe started working at the age of 15 for Chicken on the Run. He worked mostly in the car business starting out at Holley/Bruner Chevrolet. He then went to Stanley Dodge and then Big Country Ford, most recently he was employed by Kohler. He loved his family, his dogs, classic cars, Colorado camping trips and spending time at the lake.

Joe will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is in a place without pain and suffering.

Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kaye Harrell Tharp; sons, Ryan Tharp, Mitchell Tharp and wife Kelcy; two daughters, Julia Sullivan and Jenna Dean; four grandchildren, Maddox Mendoza, Nathan Gaines, Rush and Rylan Tharp; his mother Sherry Tharp; a brother Christopher Tharp; his father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Deneilia Harrell; sister-in-law Christy Harrell; his nephew, Garrett Doyal and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Tharp, Sr.

A Graveside Service will be held December 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery in Brownwood Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
