Troy L. Evans, age 84, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 28, 2024. A memorial service for Troy will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00PM at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood.

Troy was born on August 22, 1940 to Opal and Bunyon Evans in Snyder. He married the love of his life, Bettie, on August 27, 1965 in Alvin, Texas. Troy worked for the United States Army on the DOD White Sands Missile Range where he programmed defense systems, primarily on the Star Wars Program. He was a faithful member at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with his wife, Bettie. Troy was passionate about volunteering at his church, Good Samaritan Ministries, and celebrate recovery. He was often the primary cook for many events and loved it. Troy also spent many hours helping with building projects with the church and storm hit areas. Most of all, Troy loved spending time with his family and many friends.

Troy is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Bettie Evans; children, Analisa Page, Dawn Moore and husband Joe, and Brain Evans and wife Susan Bostrom; and his brothers, JV Evans and wife Carolyn, and Ricky Evans.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Bunyon and Opal Evans; sister, Nelda Hardin and brother-in-law, Ken Hardin.
