Freshman Lions 41, Marble Falls 6
MARBLE FALLS – The Brownwood Freshman Lions putting the finishing touches on a perfect 10-0 campaign and District 4-4A Division I championship with a 41-6 road victory over Marble Falls Thursday.
The Lions outscored their 10 foes, 366-57, on the season.
In Thursday’s finale, Caden Wilson opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run and Aiden Jimenez added the PAT.
Leading 13-0 at halftime, the Lions scored on the first play of the second half as Trent Buffington rumbled into the end zone from 65 yards out and added the two-point conversion for a 21-0 lead.
Marble Falls returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown and its only points, but Brownwood immediately answered with a 38-yard scoring toss from Wilson to Juston Burt to boost the lead to 27-6.
The Lions tacked on another third-quarter score as Wilson connected with Blayne Stegemoller on a 2-yard touchdown pass for a 34-6 advantage after Jimenez’s kick.
The final touchdown of the season for the Freshman Lions belonged to Hudson Deen on a 3-yard carry, and Jimenez booted the PAT for the final 35-point margin.
Defensively, Brody Bolton led the charge with an interception.

JV Lions 38, Marble Falls 0
MARBLE FALLS – The Brownwood JV Lions finished the season with a winning record thanks to Thursday’s 38-0 road triumph over Marble Falls.
The Lions produced a 5-4-1 overall record for the season as Thursday freshman quarterback Riggs Gray threw for four touchdowns and added a pair of two-point conversions in the air and two on the ground.
Sophomore receiver Conner Cornelius caught two touchdowns, while sophomore receiver Sirr Beam and junior receiver Aden Smith each pulled down one scoring toss. Durham Brown also hurled a touchdown pass to Nick Rodriguez. Sophomore tight end Dylan Current caught caught a pair of two-conversions.
The Lions defense pitched their second shutout of the season, causing three turnovers on the night and no penetrations inside their 20-yard line. I
Isaac Gonzalez led the way charge with 20 tackles and forced a fumble.

Combined Team at Abilene Cooper, canceled due to weather
The Brownwood Subvarsity Combined Team’s season finale against Abilene Cooper was called off in the second quarter Thursday due to inclement weather.
The Combined Team finished with a 2-7 record on the season.
