Bangs football drops home finale to De Leon, 54-0

BANGS – The Bangs Dragons slipped to 0-4 in District 5-2A Division I action and 2-7 on the season Friday night with their fifth straight loss overall, 54-0 to De Leon.

The Dragons mustered just 89 total yards – 73 rushing and 16 passing – against the De Leon (6-3, 4-0) defense.

Leading the way on the ground were Skylar Minshew with 30 yards, Nevaeh Menefield with 18, Hunter Withers with 7, Aden Jones with 6, Cason Tidwell with 5, Eliseo Rivas with 4, and Jackson Edmiston with 3.

Minshew also contributed an 11-yard pass to Rex Guerrero and two passes for 5 yards to Tidwell.

Defensively for Bangs, Hunter Crowell led the team with 8.5 tackles followed by 6 from Tidwell, 4 from Jones, and 3 each from Connor Bible and Braxton Wommack,

The Dragons will conclude their season next week at playoff-bound Coleman (2-7, 2-2).
