Shirley Arleen Smith, age 85, of Blanket, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, from 3 to 5 PM at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, November 4, at 10 AM at Heartland Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Shirley was born on October 27, 1939 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Fred Lane Bradley and Iva Bell Ernst Bradley. She married Bobby Gene Haire on March 10, 1956 in Eunice, New Mexico. The couple had two children, Pamela and Roy. Shirley attended some college and worked a church secretary for many years. She was organized and good with people in her many years in administration.

Shirley was very active in the church. She was a member of Haven of Hope Church, and former longtime member of Christ Chapel. She was creative and was a skilled quilter, baker, seamstress and also enjoyed ceramics. She enjoyed music, either for worship or service. She played the accordion and piano. Shirley was always looking to learn new things; she took many classes in quilting and painting China throughout the years to achieve such an expertise. She loved to travel with family, embraced technology, loved cars and was also a member of CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) for a while. She loved animals and was always loving and supportive of anyone she came into contact.

Shirley is survived by her children, Pamela Gay Jones and Roy Lane Haire; grandchildren, Bobbi Arleen Armitage and husband Chris, Brooke Layne Haire and fiancée Jerri Ann Pond, Denise Gay Jones; a great-grandchild, Rayne Arleen Haire, as well as many nieces, nephews and other close friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her siblings FL, Hartzel, Jean, Dorrine, Frank, Roy and Phillis.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
