Everette Eugene Davee, of Bryan, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the age of 87. Everette was born on May 11, 1937, in Mullin, Texas, to Everette Howard Davee and Evie Spinks Davee.

On July 7, 1978, Everette married the love of his life, Janice Venable, in Madisonville, TX. Their partnership of 46 years was one filled with love, music, and cherished memories. Everette worked as a dedicated researcher for the USDA, contributing to agricultural progress throughout his career.

In addition to his professional life, Everette was an exceptionally talented guitarist. He was a beloved member of the Brazos Country Grass Band, and his musical journey took him to stages as prestigious as the Grand Ole Opry. Everette’s passion for music also extended to competing in numerous fiddle contests alongside his family and friends. He shared his love of music with students as a guitar instructor at Bryan High School, where he taught with patience and joy.

Everette was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Howard Davee and Evie Spinks Davee, his sister Nancy Davee, and sister-in-law Janelle Benson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Davee; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Melba Davee; and his nephews, Sam Davee and Tom Davee and wife Ann Marie, along with several other beloved nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, Texas. David Spinks will officiate the service, and interment will follow at Oakview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends who shared in Everette’s life and legacy. Everette’s love for his family, his dedication to his craft, and the joy he found in music will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, passion, and harmony that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched.

Arrangements are under the care of Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, TX.
