The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a pair of structure fires recently.

On Oct. 11 at 2501 Avenue D, units from Brownwood Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at Brownwood Evangelism Church. Fire was showing from the utility/HVAC exterior closet attached to the fellowship hall. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly with no damage to the main structure. Fire was determined to be unintentional. No injuries to firefighters or civilians.

Chief 92, Chief 93, Truck 9, Rescue 9 and Engine 92 responded with assistance from the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard EMS and Atmos.

The fire was under control in 9 minutes and units were on scene 1 hour and 33 minutes.

On Oct. 13 at 504 South 7th, the Brownwood Fire Department was called to the above address for the report of a confirmed structure fire. The first fire unit arriving encountered a one-story house fully involved with fire. Crews immediately began applying large amounts of water and provided exposure protection to residences on both sides of the fire building. Once the main body of fire was knocked down a primary search was conducted finding no one inside. The owner arrived on scene and informed the fire department that no one was supposed to be living at the address. During the investigation it was found that 6 persons were living in the home. There were no injuries reported. The structure was deemed a total loss and referred to the Brownwood Planning and Development Department for follow up. The fire remains under investigation.

Chief 9, Chief 92, Chief 93, Truck 9, Rescue 9 and Engine 92 responded with assistance from the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard EMS and Atmos.

The fire was under control in 23 minutes and units were on scene 2 hours and 33 minutes.
