In an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork, the Outlaws 8U fast pitch softball team triumphed over their competitors this weekend, securing the championship title with a string of dominant performances.

The journey began in the pool games, where the Outlaws showcased their defensive prowess. In their first matchup, they started strong, shutting down their opponents with three up and three down in the first two innings. The Outlaws allowed only one run throughout the game, with standout performances from Jolie Byrd, Haigen Gossett, Jubilee Smith, and Anna Land, each hitting home runs. They finished the game decisively with a score of 13-1, ending in the top of the third inning.

Game two continued the momentum. After executing a double play in the first inning, the team maintained their defensive edge with another perfect inning. Cassidy Haws, Jolie Byrd, Audrey Ybarra, and Lexi Lawson all contributed home runs, leading the Outlaws to an 11-4 victory that solidified their position as the top seed, earning them a bye in the first bracket game.

The first bracket game saw the Outlaws again displaying their defensive skills, with no runs allowed in the first inning. Anna Land made a spectacular diving catch at third base, followed by a quick throw to first for the second out in the second inning. A thrilling triple play in the third inning, featuring a fly ball caught by Byrd, a crucial out at home by Thea Slusher, and a tag-out at second base, left the crowd in awe. With Land hitting a home run to clinch the run rule, the Outlaws finished with a commanding 13-1 victory.

The championship game pitted the Outlaws against fierce competition, but the team remained unfazed. Defensive plays highlighted the first inning, with Land and Audrey Ybarra each making critical outs. Although the Outlaws allowed three runs in the second inning, they quickly regrouped, showcasing their resilience. With powerful hits and strategic plays, they secured the championship with a final score of 11-4, ending the game in the top of the third inning.

The Outlaws’ impressive performances throughout the tournament not only secured them the championship title but also demonstrated their growth as a team. Coach Byrd praised the girls for their hard work and teamwork, stating, “Their determination and spirit were on full display this weekend.”

The Outlaws have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the 8U fast pitch softball league, and their championship victory is a testament to their dedication and talent. Fans can look forward to more thrilling games as this young team continues to make their mark on the field.
