Fishing Reports 9/18/24

The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of September 18:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 81 degrees; 0.40 feet below pool. Black bass are fair with catches up to 4 pounds being caught on buzz baits and frogs in the new water in the grass and weeds. Crankbaits will hook a catch off the rocks in 2-8 feet around the rock cuts. Crappie are slow with 12-inch fish being caught around docks with brush on minnows in 8-12 feet. White bass are good with catches up to 1.50 pound on crankbaits around the lighted docks and some schooling action. Catfish are fair with catches up to 4 pounds fishing baited holes with minnows and shad, or drifting cut shad on the main lake flats.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water normal stain; 76 degrees; 13.38 feet below pool. The lake has been nice and calm all week. Anglers are bringing in big blue catfish on cut shad. Crappie are good with minnows as the weather cools down. Bass are good. Fish are deep in 30 feet of water. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 1.52 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are biting topwaters in the morning. Later in the day target standing timber with finesse baits. Crappie are fair with jigs and minnows.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 79 degrees; 25.77 feet below pool. Black bass slow but picking up and moving to shallow cover. Topwaters, chatterbaits and swimbaits are catching fish to 8 pounds. The clarity is improving on the upper end of Lake near Concho Creek, but navigate with caution as there is still some floating debris. Lower end of the lake toward the dam is clear with some schooling activity starting to show up again. Crappie are fair suspended 20-25 feet on main lake trees along river channels. Minnows have been out fishing jigs. White bass are best at night fishing under lights. Catfish moving shallow with all the new water biting stink baits and shrimp.  Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 3.81 feet below pool. Catfish are slow but can be caught from the bank on punch bait, in deep with cut bait, or on jug lines. Hybrid and white bass are reported to be slow.
