Mateo Hinojosa

Mateo Hinojosa, 21, of Arkansas, formerly of Brownwood Texas, passed away in Arkansas, September 10, 2024.

Mateo was born in Heidelburg, Germany on April 5, 2003, to Tony Hinojosa and Christi Brumbelow. He was headstrong, stubborn, independent and he did not settle for anything. Mateo was always the class clown and could make people laugh easily. He loved all animals, especially his dog Princess, who he loved more than anything else in this world. Mateo loved to play video games, basketball and go fishing. He was very gifted at playing the guitar and played the saxophone. He attended school at BISD through the 6th grade and then graduated from College Station High School in 2021.

He is survived by his parents, Tony Hinojosa wife Meredith and Christi (Brumbelow) Ruiz and husband Christian. His Grandparents, Tony Hinojosa; Ester Hinojosa, Tony and Linda Brumbelow, and Mike and Valerie Yates. Mateo is also survived by his five brothers, Marcus Hinojosa, Maddox Hinojosa, Marek Hinojosa, Marcus Ruiz, Jacob Ruiz, and his two sisters Ayla Ruiz and Alexia Ruiz. As well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mateo is preceded in death by his great grandmother Mary Petty, and Aunt Stephanie Brumbelow.

A Celebration of Life for Mateo will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Blaylock Funeral Home with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
