Early drops final three matches at Bronte volleyball tournament

The Lady Horns (9-10) are back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they host Coleman

BRONTE – The Early Lady Horns were denied victories in all three of their tournament games Saturday at Bronte after posting a 2-1 mark in pool play Friday.

Early was upended by Coahoma, 12-25, 25-17, 25-23; fell to Bronte, 25-18, 25-13; and was downed by Benjamin, 25-16, 25-20.

Over the course of the three matches Saturday, Aubrie DeVillier recorded a team-high 11 kills followed by Ellie Shea with eight, Tyley Simmons with seven, Jensyn Rasor, Karley Smith and Grey Pruett with two each, and Gabby Benson and Piper Pedersen with one apiece.

Pruett dished out 19 assists trailed by Cassidy Frerichs with seven and Shea with one.

Pruett also served a pair of aces while Smith, Simmons and DeVillier added one apiece.

On the defensive end, Benson recorded 24 digs followed by DeVillier with seven, Smith with five, Simmons with three, and Pedersen, Shea and Frerichs with one each.

At the net, Shea logged 10 blocks, Simmons tallied four, Rasor finished with two, and Smith and Pruett notched one apiece.

The Lady Horns (9-10) are back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they host Coleman.
