Russell Moore

Russell Moore age 64, passed from this life to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:45 am at Hendricks Medical Center North in Abilene, Texas.

Services will be Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Voss Cemetery Pavilion with Bro Steve Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow at the Voss Cemetery with services under the care and direction of Henderson Funeral Home Staff of Coleman.  Family will have a private visitation.

Son of the late Homer Austin Moore, Jr. and Lois Lorraine Moore, he was born Russell Dean Moore on April 9,1960 in Odessa, Texas.  He was raised in Kermit, Texas graduating from Kermit High School and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Russell was proud of his military service and served his country bravely as a member of the United States Army with the Military Police and was expert with grenades, sharpshooter and pistol, serving overseas.

He was a resident of Odessa many years moving to Abilene in 2022 following his retirement.  Russell was employed for many years with Rodric Drilling as a rough neck, love to drive the backroads of Texas oilfields, country music and being outdoors.  He rode a Harley and rode the Booms & Bust of the Texas Oilfields.  Russell was a rambling man with a bag always ready to go, he was full of wisdom and stories and loved to share them with friends.  His favorite place in Texas was on the Colorado River in a much-loved town of Voss.

SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters – Casey Fletcher of Abilene, TX; Leah Tiermann of Austin, TX, Life Partner – Rexine Pinson;  Step Sons – Cody Anderson & Billy Dale Reichert; Brother & Sister-in-law Greg & Jan Moore of Lake Coleman, TX; 3 Grandsons; Numerous Nieces and Nephews and Countless friends & Best Friend Tiny Chamberland.
