After 21 years of service at the Heart of Texas Baptist Camp & Conference Center, located at 8025 N FM 2125 on Lake Brownwood, Tom Dunn has made the difficult decision to retire as Maintenance and Facilities Director.

He and his wife, Mary will be moving back to their home in Cross Plains where they have many friends.   If you have not had the privilege of knowing Tom, he is a man of many talents. Tom likes to say that he has been the shepherd of over 100 toilets! He not only is a general “fix-it man” but is gifted with many creative and artistic talents that are evident at the camp.  Tom is reserved and has a gentle spirit as he seeks the Lord looking for opportunities to be a blessing and encouragement to those he encounters.  Tom will leave a big hole at our camp that will be hard to fill. He has become a “fixture” around here with many staff and campers looking forward to seeing him each summer.

You are invited to his “come-and-go” retirement party at the camp next Saturday, August 31 from 2:00-4:00 pm.  If you are unable to come to this event, please join the virtual retirement party on Facebook HERE.  The virtual event is happening now until Aug. 31.  On the FB event, you may leave comments and express gratitude for Tom’s service.
