August Sales Tax Up in Bangs, Down in Brownwood and Early

August sales tax allocations were released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office.  Sales tax allocations for August were higher in Bangs compared to August 2023, but lower in Brownwood and Early.  August sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in June 2024.  Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $659,410, down 8.47% compared to August 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2023 through August 2024) Brownwood has received $6,543,971, down 2.96% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $210,361, down 9.28% vs. August 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $2,132,483, down 2.07% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

EARLY

The City of Early received $170,138, down 34.00% compared to August 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $2,184,041, down 13.69% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Early Municipal Development District received $54,702, down 34.98% compared to August 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $711,453, down 14.14% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $24,675, up 2.28% compared to August 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $238,084, up 3.75% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,198, down 5.63% compared to August 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $34,011, up 2.27 vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.
