James Bailey Miller

James Bailey Miller, age 79, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 26, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Jim was born July 19, 1945 in Brownwood, to Thomas and Myrtie Miller. He graduated from Chapel Hill High School in Brownwood. Jim enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1962 and served in the 11th Airborne Division earning several awards and honors. He was honorably discharged in August of 1965. On July 20, 1966, Jim married Jane Chamberlain, in Bangs. The couple began their journey together and were blessed with 2 daughters. Jim was good with his hands and was employed as a mechanic and truck driver all of his life. He enjoyed genealogy, fishing, old cars, metal detecting and wood working.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Ann Walker and husband Steve of Cape Coral, Florida, Holly McMillian and husband Dewight of Bangs, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie Hamman and husband Dennis of Cape Coral, Fl, Jessica Brown and husband Chris of Brownwood, Taylor Walker and wife, Jessica of Cape Coral, Fl, Zachary Clark and wife Meridith of Lake Brownwood; great grandchildren, Gracely Brown and Affinity Clark of Brownwood, Beau Hamman and Townes Walker of Cape Coral, Fl., Soren Clark of Lake Brownwood and Mason Hamman of Cape Coral, Fl.; siblings, Myrtie Fulton, Vonda Williamson, Caroline Wilkins and Roy Miller; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his precious wife, Jane; his parents; and several siblings.
